Position: Oregon Law Center (OLC) seeks a statewide pro bono program manager to provide statewide leadership in the pro bono client services arena to legal aid offices throughout the state of Oregon. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the pro bono efforts of the legal services community in Oregon. This position is located in our Portland office, statewide travel and flexible hours will be necessary.
Responsibilities: The pro bono program manager will work with LASO and OLC legal aid staff around the state, the Campaign for Equal Justice, the Oregon State Bar, local bar associations, private law firms, corporate legal departments, government attorneys, individual attorneys, the judiciary, the three Oregon law schools and other community organizations to energize and expand pro bono services in the state.
The program manager’s responsibilities will include: creating and cultivating a pro bono culture in the legal aid programs in Oregon to use pro bono resources to further the programs’ missions and priorities; assisting individual office analysis and pro bono model development to allow each office to design and periodically review pro bono programs appropriate for their community; developing systems to maximize the use of Portland area attorneys throughout the state; increasing resource development through the use of innovative attorney assistance, technology assistance, system use of common programs, coordinated marketing and coordinating recruiting; coordinating with Oregon State Bar (OSB), OSB sections, local bars, law firms, etc in order to maximize client service; working directly with the Lawyers’ Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ) to bring the pro bono message to the private bar building upon CEJ’s partnerships and expanding CEJ’s reach through pro bono partners; managing web based aspects of pro bono including the ProBonoOregon statewide case placement list serve, Oregon Advocates and Oregon Law Help; and, implementing and managing pro bono training around the state.
