[OR Jobs]

The State of Oregon seems to be expanding its public interest sector.

For example, there are a few jobs in the Office of Public Defense Services, including an entry level attorney position.  The job listings are available on the site but here is a brief description of the services the office handles:

The Appellate Division of the Office of Public Defense Services is comprised of appellate specialists who regularly appear before the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court, representing financially eligible individuals in criminal and parole cases. The office engages in one of the most intensive and demanding appellate practices in the state. Like their counterparts in the Solicitor General’s Office of the Oregon Department of Justice, the attorneys in the Appellate Division represent their clients with extraordinary skill and zeal in the state’s highest courts and contribute directly to the rational development of Oregon’s criminal laws and procedures. As a result, the Appellate Division is committed to recruiting, training, supervising, and retaining highly skilled appellate lawyers who will continue to develop one of the finest appellate practices in Oregon.
