Job Description

Foley & Lardner LLP, a large national law firm, seeks an experienced project manager to oversee multiple complex projects within its Intellectual Property Department. A primary responsibility of this role is to manage projects associated with the transition of new patent and trademark partners into the firm. These projects require the management of cross-departmental teams who are responsible for the import and conversion of patent and trademark docket data, notification of the Patent & Trademark Office, the creation of client/matter information, and the conversion of physical and electronic records. The project manager will be responsible for establishing timelines and due dates, assigning and following up on tasks, communicating with the team and with stakeholders, and for ensuring timely completion of the project. The project manager will also help facilitate technical and operational tasks. In addition, the project manager will be the point of contact for the new partners, and ensure that specific questions and problems are communicated to appropriate team members. It is likely that there will be concurrent projects, requiring the management of multiple teams and project plans. The project manager will also work on other projects within the Intellectual Property Department as assigned.

Major Duties:
As an attorney in the Health Care Division you will perform a variety of legal duties relating to cases or legal issues of extreme difficulty. Often the work of the division staff includes advisory functions related to antitrust enforcement policy under the various statutes enforced by the Commission. A successful staff member has interest in and the ability to deal with both legal analysis and economic and practical business issues arising from the matters under investigation. More specifically you will:

- Make initial determinations as to whether matters should be investigated;
- Plan and conduct investigations of potentially anticompetitive conduct in the health care field, often working as a member of a
team;
- Based on evidence collected during investigation, and on applicable legal precedents, determine whether a matter should be pursued or
closed;
- Prepare for conduct trial of matters to be pursued, or negotiate settlement of those matters; and
- Perform special assignments as directed.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Applicants must have attained the first professional law degree (LL.B or J.D.) from an accredited law school and be an active member
in good standing of the bar of a state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
